Members from across Girlguiding Midlands enjoyed a unique adventure camping in the grounds of Warwick castle

Over 490 girls and their Leaders made their way to Warwick Castle over the weekend of 16 to 18 September for a medieval themed stay in lodges and tents complete with four poster beds.

The girls, aged between 10 and 14, were welcomed with evening activities including archery, plate spinning and jester school followed by a wonderful medieval style banquet complete with knights fighting and entertainment. The evening was rounded off with campfire singing under the moon and stars led by Region Chief Commissioner Abi Salter.

After a breakfast fit for a queen, girls and Leaders were treated to a display of birds of prey in the castle grounds before a fun filled day around the castle itself……walking the walls, running the ramparts and climbing towers as well as visiting the great hall, amazing maze and horrible histories dungeons if they dared! There were displays and shows throughout both days and hands on activities to choose from led by castle staff.
