Volunteers from across the Midlands Region have been recognised their role in empowering hundreds of girls and young women.

75 of Girlguiding Midland’s volunteers have been honoured for their outstanding service in supporting girls and young women with a prestigious Chief Commissioner Award.

The volunteers were presented with a specially-designed brooch in honour of their inspirational efforts by Region Chief Commissioner Abi Salter at a ceremony at St Martin’s House, Leicester, on Sunday 6 December.

Region Chief Commissioner, Abi Salter, said "I want to say a huge thank you to these volunteers, they have helped thousands of girls discover new things, make great friends and gain news skills whilst having lots of fun, none of which would be possible without such wonderful volunteer leaders."
