Girls and their Leaders from Staffordshire represented Girlguiding at a special Remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum.
The service, on Thursday 5th March, was held to commemorate the overseas born Victoria Cross heroes from the First World War. 145 paving stones were unveiled paying tribute to servicemen born overseas across 19 different countries. Among those in attendance were Prime Minister David Cameron and Secretary of State, the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP.
The girls were honoured to be invited to represent Girlguiding by Youth United, alongside members of Scouting, Boys Brigade, Police Cadets and Fire Cadets.
Highlights for the girls included meeting and having a selfie with Eric Pickles, getting to know members of other uniformed organisations, and the chocolate cake after the service!
