BUILD is an opportunity to come and meet other Commissioners, to develop your understanding of the role, to share good practice, to be updated about current initiatives, to have fun and to make new friends.

The sessions will all be specifically designed for Commissioners and some will be optional. Topics will include compliance, finance, keeping your unit safe, complaints management, managing property, planning an event, International trips, social media & PR, GO, what's going on in your area, trustee training, membership growth, managing your time, and what to do in an emergency. 

The venue. Yarnfield Park, is a leading training venue and conference centre. Accommodation will be in fully-equipped twin ensuite rooms. You will be given the opportunity to say who you would like to share with if you have a friend attending.

The event is joint funded between Counties and the Region and places are available on a pro rata basis per County, so early booking is recommended.

No cost to commissioners although a deposit cheque for £50 will be requested. (This will be returned on attendance)


Two nights accommodation in a twin room, all meals from evening meal on Friday to lunch on Sunday


  • Travel costs - The first £20 of travel expenses will be paid by your own County. The remainder is a legitimate expense that may be claimed locally.
