How do I order badges?

There are six different badges –  a badge for volunteering, a badge for awareness, badges for each Mile for Macmillan, Dress up and Dance and World's Biggest Coffee Morning and a general Macmillan badge.  Badges cost £1 each. 

Download the badge order form, fill it in and send back to us at The Macmillan Cancer Support Challenge, Girlguiding Midlands, 21 Lower Church Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, LE65 1AB.

All cheques should be made payable to ‘The Guide Association Midlands’. 

All badge orders must have been received by Girlguiding Midlands by Thursday 30 November 2017. 

How do I send my fundraising and donations in?

All monies raised or donated to Macmillan as part of this challenge need to be sent to Girlguiding Midlands for processing.

Please do not send cash through the post. All monies should be paid into your unit bank account and a cheque should be made out to ‘The Guide Association Midlands’.

The cheque should be sent along with a Funds Raised Form and for sponsored activities sponsorship forms should also be included to allow Gift Aid to be processed.

How do I get hold of resources?

Some activities have resources available either as downloads or as packs to send off for.

Special Girlguiding packs will be available for both Dress up and Dance and Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning. Please see the Fundraising pages to find out when you can sign up to receive one. 

An activity pack is available will be available to download for the Mile for Macmillan.

Other activities also have resources which are available to download from the relevant page of the website.

Posters, press releases and guidance on social media are available on our Shout about your social action page 

How do I register for activities?

What if we want to do our own fundraising activity?

We know that you will have your own great ideas for fundraising. Why not give the Macmillan Fundraising Support Centre a call to talk through your ideas and find out how they can support you. Make sure to mention that you are a member of Girlguiding Midlands.

What about raffles, lotteries and sweepstakes?

Raffles, lotteries, tombolas and sweepstakes are all classed as lotteires under the law and are governed by lottery regulations. It's best to contact the Macmillan Fundraising Support Centre  if you are planning on running one. Make sure to mention that you are a member of Girlguiding Midlands.

What about collections?

Collections are a great way to raise money, especially in a busy area. If you're planning a collection that takes place in a publically owned place that this is governed by strict legal requirements and must be licensed by your Local Authority. Before you approach your Local Authority for a license, please give the Macmillan Fundraising Support Centre a call to discuss your plans, making sure to mention that you are a member of Girlguiding Midlands.

Can we order other items like balloons, wigs and t-shirts?

Can I use JustGiving for fundraising?

You can use Justgiving and we have set up a team page to bring together everyones efforts in fundraising for Macmillan.  

If you plan to use Justgiving for your fundraising, please refer to our guide to setting up your page to make sure your fundraising is counted towards The Macmillan Challenge. 

Do we have to do the fundraising events at the specific times?

We are focusing on a key fundraising event each term - in Spring Mile for Macmillan, in Summer Dress Up and Dance and in Autumn World's Biggest Coffee Morning - however you and your girls can choose to do any of the activities at any time you wish. 

Note that fundraising packs for Dress up and Dance will not be available until May and packs for World's Biggest Coffee Morning will be sent out in August.
