What does the role of Assistant Safeguarding Adviser involve?

The role involves providing Commissioners with advice and support in relation to safeguarding issues as they arise.


What do you hope to achieve as part of this role?

To be able to help Commissioners manage their concerns to allow Guiding to remain a safe space.


What other roles do you have in guiding?

Division Commissioner, Guide Leader & Rainbow Leader


What relevant previous experiences have you had which led you to this Region role?

First hand experience of working through the guiding processes for concerns in both safeguarding and compliance.

What is your favourite thing you have done, or your greatest achievement, as a member of Girlguiding?

Watching girls grow in confidence and taking part in adventures that they would not get without guiding.

What do you enjoy outside guiding?

Spending time with my own children which involves motor sport and music


What is your favourite biscuit and why?

Has to be a digestive – they make great S’mores!
