Jayne Wilkinson

What does the role of Region Peer Education Coordinator mean to you/involve? What do you hope to achieve as part of this role?

My role as Region Peer Education Coordinator is to support all of the County Coordinators and work with them to organise training events to train new Peer Educators and further training for existing Peer Educators. As part of my role, I hope to raise the profile of Peer Education by training more Peer Educators and being able to put on more sessions.

What other roles do you have in guiding?

I am a Brownie leader, District Commissioner, Peer Educator & Trainer and County Peer Education Coordinator.

What relevant previous experiences have you had which led you to this Region role?

I started as a Peer Educator then became County Coordinator. I have also recently finished training to become a Peer Ed trainer and I was part of the task and finish group which designed the new topic (coming soon!).

What is your favourite thing you have done, or your greatest achievement, as a member of Girlguiding?

I am working towards my Queens Guide and I am very much looking forward to the exploration! I also really enjoy taking my Brownies on pack holiday.

What do you enjoy outside guiding?

Swimming and spending time in my garden.

What is your favourite biscuit and why?

Chocolate digestive because I like how the chocolate melts when I dunk it in a cuppa!

What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

Friendly, enthusiastic and adaptable.
