‘Disneyland Paris Adventures’
Ever since becoming a young leader I have wanted to give our girls all the opportunities possible which culminated in May 2023 with a trip to Disneyland Paris.
For as long as I can recall, a trip to Disneyland Paris was my dream trip however I never thought it would be possible.
Three years ago, just before Covid hit, myself and 2 other leaders went to France to see how it could work, to look at the possibilities and to imagine the unimaginable.
The next three years took a lot of planning, permissions and fundraising to make the trip possible for all.
Fast forward to May 2023 where I led a team of 9 adults and 45 Brownies, Guides and Rangers on an amazing adventure to Disneyland Paris, my biggest challenge to date. For many, a trip they could only ever have dreamt of, with one parent jumping at the thought of us offering her daughter something she never could.
The girls all had an amazing time, making memories that will last a lifetime and they are all looking forward to our next international adventure.
This was by far my biggest challenge to date, but in reality it was no different to any other residential I have led, the only difference- not losing 54 passports!
For those considering an international, or any other big challenge, take that leap and step out of your comfort zone- the feeling of achievement afterwards is phenomenal.
