Do you know someone who deserves special thanks? Goes that extra mile? Has given exceptional service?

Guiding in the Midlands is only possible thanks to our wonderful volunteers and the amazing contribution they make to Girlguiding and the region. It is vital that we recognise their valuable contribution because without them we would not be able to deliver the quality experience our members deserve.

There are many ways you can show your appreciation to all guiding volunteers and Girlguiding’s website gives some great ideas on thanking your volunteers for their regular contributions!

Volunteers automatically receive long service awards for the years they've given to guiding, beginning after three years with a region long service badge and certificate (via your county), followed by national awards from five years. There are also two Girlguiding awards that can be given at a local level for leaders who ‘go that extra mile’, the Thanks badge and the Good Service brooch.

Girlguiding Midlands has three awards recognising outstanding service at all levels.  If you feel someone has done something exceptional within guiding at a local level they can be nominated for the region’s Chief Commissioner award. Outstanding service at county or region level can be considered for the Midlands Region award. Click Midlands Merit award to view the criteria for this special award.
