Get immersed in unforgettable experiences across the Globe
Every year, hundreds of girls and women travel abroad with Girlguiding to destinations as diverse as Switzerland and Mexico, and everywhere in between.
International adventures are a great opportunity to see amazing sights, meet amazing people and could even change your life! Travelling overseas, girls and adults in guiding learn about other cultures and global issues.

Past Adventures
Opportunities for young members of Girlguiding
Previous trips have seen members travel to:
Trips run by a County or the Region are usually for members aged over 14. To take part in one of these visits you would need to attend an International selection event held in each County during March or April. Please contact your County International Adviser for details of the next selection event in your County.
Opportunities for Leaders and members aged over 18
Of course, none of these trips could take place without Leaders to lead them. Leaders are always sought for both County and Region trips – please speak to your County International Advisor for further information. An event for leaders interested in Region trips is usually held in February/March.
You could organise your very own international adventure, and many units do every year. Taking your girls abroad can be a great experience and an adventure for both you and your girls.
The Travelling Abroad Training is a series of sessions which provide support for Leaders to take girls and young women on trips and residential events overseas. Please contact your County International Advisor for details of the next Travelling Abroad Training dates.
You don't have to go abroad to take part in an international camp. There are international camps in the UK too. They are a great opportunity to enjoy exciting activities as well as exchange ideas and form friendships with members from around the world.
For further details visit the Girlguiding website
There are lots of ways to travel internationally. You could hold your unit camp independently overseas, take part in an organised camp abroad, take part in a service or community project or visit a World Centre to name a few!
GOLD
As part of Guiding Overseas Linked with Development (GOLD), members of Girlguiding, aged 18 to 30, travel thousands of miles to make a difference in communities across the world. Previous participants have run workshops with girls in Zambia to achieve their career aspirations, tackling violence against women and girls in Malawi, grown youth membership in Aruba and taken peer education to Peru.
To be part of this amazing opportunity, the Go for Gold selection weekend is the first step on the ladder.
