Alice Hopton
“Hi! I’m Alice and I’m a Guide and Ranger leader in Staffordshire as well as the County Young Leader Advisor. I have been a member of Girlguiding since I was a Rainbow at age 5. I have so many favourite Guiding experiences and memories to share them all. The one thing that does stay with me though is how much Girlguiding has given me, not only in international travel and adventures but skills that I use in all parts of my life. Girlguiding has also given me the opportunity to meet so many members from the UK and around the world – these are the friendships that have stayed with me.”

Catherine Stothard
“Hi! I’m Catherine and I’m a Guide and Ranger leader in both Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. I’ve been a member of Girlguiding since I joined Brownies aged 7 in North Tyneside and have never left. Recently I completed my Queens Guide Award which showed just how many opportunities there are for members of all ages and allowed me to meet Girlguiding members from around the country.”

Alice Beresford
“Hi! I’m Alice B and I’m a Brownie and Guide leader in Staffordshire and our Divisions’ Young Leader Advisor. My favourite Guiding experience was going on to the international camp ran by Staffordshire Girlguiding Unity when I was a Brownie. 18 years later I still have a shoebox full of photos and swaps from girls I met from all around the world and it was fantastic to go back to as a leader in 2018 and take some Guides on their first international camp experience. ”

Ruth Slaney
“Hi, I’m Ruth and I’m a Guide leader in Warwickshire. I’ve been a member of Girlguiding since I was 5 and am currently helping with a unit whilst at Uni. My favourite Guiding experience has to be when I attended the World Scout Jamboree as a member of IST. It was amazing to meet so many people from so many different countries and get to have so many new experiences!”
Kay Knowles
“Hi, I’m Kay and I have been involved in Girlguiding since joining Rainbows as soon as I turned five, so it’s always been part of my life. Currently, I’m the leader of 5th West Bridgford Brownies in Nottingham where I live. My proudest moment is when I ran the London Marathon in 2018 and raised £2,500 for Girlguiding!”
