ICE – Isle of Arran

It’s time to head north to the Isle of Arran for our Wildlife & Wilderness Trip!

“Are you coming with us?”

Join us for a fun-filled International Community Experience for Guides in 2027.

We’ll journey to the beautiful Isle of Arran, with opportunities to explore the stunning natural scenery and spot native wildlife, as well as discovering the diverse local history. We will also leave our own positive mark on the island with some environmental volunteering.

The Guides embarking on this adventure will attend three briefing events (one day and two overnight events) so they can get to know each other, build friendships, and properly meet the leadership team.

The adventure will culminate in a four-night, five-day trip between the dates of 30 March – 3 April 2027 (subject to minor changes).

This International Community Experience is open to Guides born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2016. Participants will need to remain a member of, and regularly attend, a unit within the Girlguiding Midlands.

International Community Experience (ICE) trips are an opportunity for younger Guides to take their first steps in the international community of Guiding and get a taste of what it means to travel with Girlguiding. It brings all the fun and adventure of an international trip, just a little closer to home!

The ballot will be open from 7 May until 12 June 2026. For more information check our FAQs.

We can’t wait for you to join us!

FAQs

Exciting news about our 2024 events!

We are delighted to let you know that we have received some significant funding from Girlguiding to support the transport costs to a few of our 2024 events.

Important!

The final amount we can refund for all of these events will be determined by our final booking numbers, so we cannot give you an exact amount at this point, but wanted to give you a heads up before the closing date, so if you were considering joining the event but transport costs were preventing you from doing so, this may help with those costs and therefore make the event more accessible for your unit.

There will be a per participant (girls and leaders) refund of around £25 per person for each person confirmed as booked on the Girlguiding Midlands event.

Note for this event, if you cancel or reduce your booking numbers after refund has been made to you, you will be expected to return the refund for any reduction or cancellation in full.

If you increase your booking numbers, it is unlikely that we will be able to offer any refund for additional places as all refunds will have been processed.
