The Time Well Spent survey (2023) by the NCVO showed that 75% of people who had volunteered for a group, club or organisation in the last year found it had a positive impact on their mental well being.
Girlguiding’s own research shows that, compared to volunteers at other youth organisations, Girlguiding volunteers are 5 times more likely to say they joined to learn new skills and are 4 times more likely to say things in their life are worthwhile than those who volunteer elsewhere or never volunteer.

Talking about mental health with your girls

Looking after your own mental health
Mental health affects us all. Each year in England, 1 in 4 adults experience a mental health problem. If you’re struggling with your mental health at the moment we’d like to encourage you to reach out and seek support. That could be from a friend or family member, a member of the Girlguiding community, a medical professional or one of many organisations set up to support you.
We’ve provided some links if you’re not sure where to look –
