Don’t be afraid to talk to people about your volunteering – shout about the positive impact you have on the girls in your care. Talk about the friends you’ve made and skills you’ve developed along the way – we’re not only great for girls but our volunteers have a great time too!

Did you know you can add your volunteering experience to your LinkedIn profile? Find the steps on how to do this here. Sharing the skills you’ve developed as a volunteer is great for prospective employers and your connections to see but is also an amazing advert for the benefits of volunteering with Girlguiding.

How often do you share about your volunteering on your personal social media accounts? Perhaps you could share about a great unit meeting you’ve run, a fantastic event you’ve attended or something you and your guiding friends have achieved. There are loads of reasons for prospective volunteers to join us – help them hear the positives.
