I had the honour of leading a baking session for Derbyshire Inspire on Wednesday 18 October. I got this honour following a message on the WhatsApp group from the county coordinators who wanted someone with baking skills to help them do the session.
I love to bake and cook, being in the kitchen making yummy things is something that makes me so happy and I love sharing what I have made with other people. I also love to help people, in any way I can.
So this was a great way to bring the two together.
I did some research into recipes and found some which I sent to be approved, and it was decided we were making chocolate marshmallow bats.
They were great fun to make, not too complicated and fairly quick, yet they have the tricky skill of melting chocolate. We had such a laugh trying to get them to stay on the skewers while covering them in chocolate and then getting the wings to stick. They turned out great and tasted fab.
I loved sharing this skill and passion with Derbyshire Inspire.
